An interesting look at the decaying life of a dictator. Very lyrical, as with all of marquees work and very interesting commentary on the way power functions under a dictatorship. You get the sense that at times, the dictator himself doesn't really know what is going on, and you get to see how he uses national tragedies to strengthen his power. You also get to see how through a cult of personality, his personal intimate tragedies become glorified nation wide tragedies instead. Overall very good read. Mind the trigger warnings.
