This was one of the best audiobook productions I've heard. The book itself, it was not bad, I think I was just not that intrigued.

I heard about this audiobook from Startalk - they shared a video with Malcolm and I had to go check it out immediately. I grew up not far from the airforce base discussed in the book and I had never heard of the bomber mafia. This book was incredibly informative. It was also incredibly emotional.

I have to admit I took stars off because this is supposed to be a scholarly approach and towards the end the book had some religious references that felt out of place and jarred me from the topic at hand.

This felt like watching a documentary or a video essay. I definitely recommend the audiobook.

Ok , this is not a subject matter I am particularly interested in, but Malcolm Gladwell's audiobooks are so brilliantly put together that they make you interested. This one is no exception - I love how he uses the original audio recordings of interviews and news reports rather than just reading it himself. Makes it so much more engaging.
In the afterword, he said that this book started off as an audiobook, and then was later put into print, so that is probably why it was so engaging as it was made for the medium. Well worth a listen...I learned quite a lot.

This isn't my usual genre, even within non-fiction I'm not usually drawn to these types of topics. It was informative, interesting, and the writing style was easy to read (even though the subject matter wasn't always what i would call easy reading). I would probably suggest it to people I know are interested in history or the airforce, but this wasn't so life changing and earth shattering amazing that I'm going to run around suggesting it to everybody I know.
