I would highly recommend the audio book- the audio clips used make it that much more enjoyable and authentic.

I never knew military history could be so fascinating. It’s entirely possible that only Malcolm Gladwell could make it so.

Honestly, a pretty solid book. Not Gladwell's usual, but I think he did a good narrative job of this one. It is a bit specific and specialized so I don't think I'm going to necessarily take this to by grave but a good quick read.

Essentially just 6 episodes of Malcolm Gladwell's Revisionist History podcast. If you listened to the podcast episodes, not much is different thought the small extra bits do make it worth a listen.

Malcolm Gladwell can tell a story. And honestly, I’m not even sure I care about the fact checks. He describes someone’s mustache as “thriving” and that automatically deserves four stars.

Superbly produced audiobook about ethics and morality during the time of war. A case study of making a non-fiction audiobook. Narration blended with interviews, archival audio recordings, sound effects of the past, background music underscoring the tone of narration, all this seamlessly engineered together. This is a short book, only about 5 hours long, packed with moments that will make you pause and think and reflect.

I have a thing for WW2. Anyone who knows me, will attest to that fact. The way Gladwell lays out his story is delightful and so engaging. Arguably, engaging even for people who don’t love history. It’s a really great examination of the different ideals behind each method of bombing. I appreciate the groundwork he lays out for the reader to think about it for themselves.

This book covers strategic bombing in WW2. Mainly the leadership (Generals) in charge of the bombers. It covers the early days of the army air force, and a small group of airmen with an idea of how to transform how wars are fought with bombers.

Its mainly about the strategies these different generals were willing to use. And how their personalities and morals guided them to their conclusions. And how some of the weapons were developed that were available for them to use.

This is a good one. Would recommend.

Gladwell's books have never disappointed, and this one was no different. It was a fascinating piece of unknown (to me) history, and all the better with Malcolm Gladwell narrating the audiobook himself.
