As an example of essay with thesis, supporting statements, conclusion: perfect. Sharp.

As satire: also brilliant. And like good satire, relevant still today. Though our "issues" are not Catholics, but "welfare moms."

This was on my to-read list because I was supposed to read it for school, did not, and resolved to read it for real someday to redeem myself
I mean, this was fine? Like as one of the First Satires I'm glad it exists, but it does suffer from the Tolkien problem of like... it's been so long and so influential that the original work doesn't feel all that innovative anymore

Jonathan Swift was so wicked to devise this satire to bring attention to the problem of the devastating poverty in Ireland. It is amazing how timeless humor can be.
