This is interesting but I feel this one could have really benefited from explanatory notes as I really don't know much about the history of Ireland and England during this time in history

A good subject for a satire, although repetetive.

Read this because Liz posted on instagram today about it and I remembered my college professor making a reference to it in class a few years back. In light of Roe v Wade, this essay made a ruling that is so devastating and heavy into something to laugh at. Truly shows how ridiculous the situation our countries leaders put us in lol. I hope every Supreme Court justice reads this and feels stupid.

This obviously is an incredible satire which should give immense pleasure to rich, thinking of a new variety of tender meat. The authors proposal for preventing the children of poor parents from being a burden, and making them beneficial to the country, almost seems serious. I’d be really happy to gift and recommend this book to politicians who’ve been struggling with children, begging on streets for generations.

I definetly thought it was going to be longer than it was but i guess not. My version was 13 pages long which I had to read for ap literature and composition and this version says 14 pages but it was the closest I could get to it. His proposal was interesting and took me by surprise because I was not expecting it. The satire is clear throughout it so I can see why it's a classic and used as an example for literary modern satire constantly

I went into this book not knowing anything about the author or what the proposal would be. I was shocked when I discovered the solution. Overall the satire was brilliant and the author’s sense of humour was very enjoyable to read. I did not enjoy the other parts of the collection as much though.
