“James, you are all the family I have. I would die for you. You know that. I would die without you. If it were not for you, I would be dead a hundred times over these past five years. I owe you everything…”

there are books you read for the story, and then there are books that somehow reach into your chest and sit with you, quietly, like they’ve always been there. clockwork prince did that to me. i didn’t expect it to matter this much, but it did and now I can’t stop thinking about it.

the thing that lingers the most isn’t even the love triangle everyone talks about, it’s will and jem, the heronstairs. the kind of bond that feels too big for words. they aren’t just friends. they aren’t just parabatai. they are soulmates in a way i’ve never really seen written before. will’s chaos and sharp edges, jem’s calm and gentleness, it’s like they’re two halves of the same heartbeat. watching them love each other so fiercely, so selflessly, made me realize that soulmates aren’t always the people you fall in love with romantically. sometimes they’re the people who simply keep you alive.

and honestly, it changed me. because for the first time, i saw a relationship in fiction that made me want to believe in the idea of finding someone who sees you that completely, who stays when you are at your worst, who carries part of your hurt just because they can. it made me look at my own friendships differently, like maybe those quiet, steady bonds are just as important as the big, dramatic loves we chase.

clockwork prince broke my heart, but in a strange way it also rebuilt it.

On to the next one! I do love me some good old angst

Fast paced and the romance killed me. You see more into the characters in this novel and I had to start book 3 straight after. Despite having already read them before. One of my favourite series.
