I hate love triangles!
But I adore Charlotte and Henry. If the entire book could be only about them, I’d be thrilled. They are my favorite Shadowhunter couples ever!
For its relative shortness, a lot happened in this book. While Tessa’s character is still a mystery, the backstory is spotlighted for Jesse, Will, Nate and the Lightwoods! I’m hoping the third book will wrap up this trilogy nicely!

I loved this book until the end. It was great, the romance tense between Jem and Will, and when Jem proposed, I wasn't sure what to do! Until she said yes. I still think Tessa should be with Will and he should have burst in just as Jem was proposing and proposed also but I guess that couldn't happen (why Cassandra Clare?!?!?!). Anyways, I would give it 4.5 (Only because I didn't like the ending but still thought it was wrapped up nicely (It rounds up to 5 anyways...) )

I'm pretty sure I died at least 50 times while reading this book. To quote Harry Potter, you're going to suffer, but you're going to be happy about it.
I’m going to keep this short and sweet because I’m not sure how I feel at the moment. I am not a fan of love triangles. Mainly because I always feel as though the triangle is a mere right angle than anything else. But I think, from what I’ve read, this is the closest I’ve read to a love triangle that doesn’t commit to making it polyamory. Everyone loves everyone, in different ways but still strong. To see the bond between each of them, the subtle blushes and glances between Jem and Tessa, the bullheaded refusal Will has to admit his feelings, the seamless care shared between Will and Jem as though they are one. It’s hard to not be enthralled over just how much they love each other. However the ending of this made me just a tad disappointed. You’re telling me neither Will or Jem had any inkling of how their parabatai felt for Tessa. And for Will to try every reasoning to justify breaking Jem’s heart. It comes out of nowhere which is understandable. The guy just had his whole world view fucked up. But then Tessa for shame I know she’s a young girl but how could she feel alright thinking of another man so fondly while engaged. It’s just not something I felt comfortable with. Still a brilliant read and I can’t see what the third book does.
