I thoroughly enjoyed the first collection of stories and the second main story. However, ended up losing interest in the last section. Overall a good read and would recommend.

2 1/2 stars. As with many short story collections, some are compelling and others aren't. The author has a lovely use of language though, so even for the stories I didn't care for I did like the descriptive prose

Brilliant new voice. You can tell they are a poet. Filled with bright images and gay stuff (longing) and land and melancholy. A really good read. Read it! (instead of (or as well as) Honeybee)

Some beautiful, touching stories. Loved the evocation of familiar places.

I adored this. Queer, blak excellence. I'm looking forward to reading more from them.

A solid short story collection - themes of family and connection/disconnection to people and Country. Clearly linked, but not repetitive, fresh, readable and moving prose.

I found the first section mesmerising, the second intriguing (futuristic girl on girl action with mangrove plantoids?!), and the third difficult to stay focused on. all in all, a really interesting short story collection about family and identity.
