Overall feeling: the book is slightly boring. It takes a really long time for the characters to get together, and once they do there isn't a huge payoff. Eric is really nasty and mean and Julie just lets life go on around her without talking a grand interest in it. The pairing seemed odd from the start, but once they opened up to each other I could see where the attraction came from.

I wish we got to spend more time with them as an actual couple to see how their interactions changed, especially once Julie stopped working for Eric.

**I was gifted with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review**

Eric and Julie had such an insane connection. This book really showed that people really can change and that closing yourself off can be harmful. Such an awesome story and i really enjoyed reading it. thank you for the ARC and i look forward to more!

Can a woman used to taking care of others, manage one grumpy, former NFL, billionaire? Julie Nelson has spent the last six years taking care of her ailing parents but when her mother passes away she doesn't know what to do with her life now. Eric Vincent, a former NFL player now billionaire starting his own gaming company, fell skiing in Austin, fracturing his leg. He's now stuck in a wheelchair has gone through 4 nurses in the past few weeks, meets Julie in the elevator at the hospital. After giving him a little TLC, he vows to offer her whatever amount of money to be his assistant for the next 3 months. He also has a secret that no one knows but will have you wishing for Eric and Julie to be a family.

Eric isn't easy to get along with but somehow, Julie has his interest. She gave up her dream of a PhD to care for her parents. Can two lost souls find love? Will they act on the smoldering feelings that they both feel? Fooling Around is a wonderful story that will have you cheering for both Eric and Julie while slowly falling in love with them both. I highly recommend this book to everyone who wants a love story that will have you waiting for Julie to spread her butterfly wings and embrace her new life with joy.

I received an arc of this book and I loved it. Great characters. Nothing too predictable or expected. I enjoyed this book. Read it in one sitting. Worth a read.

A sweet story

Noelle Adams' book is a cute love story. Eric is grumpy and used to getting what he wants. Julie is mousy and takes care of others before herself. What happens when Eric hires Julie to assist him? Your typical love story.

2021 - Trying to clear out my Netgalley to-read list. Here's to taking it back to 2016.

Reading Fooling Around took me back to why I used to love lighter romances like this. The angst isn't all consuming, the characters develop quite quickly, it's an easy read, and it ends with a guaranteed HEA. I haven't read something with a Happily Ever After in some time. While it was a quick, enjoyable read, it had some glaring issues. There's a daughter with a mysterious illness that feels just tossed in, the whole book is predictable, and well, per usual it's completely over the top in that it would never happen. I guess I sort of like that though, just wish it felt more realistic. The romance could have used more fleshing out, I think I would have loved it had it not had the child illness situation and more romance focus had been given. Overall, not a bad romance, I think this was a fantastic break from real life and that others will really enjoy it.

ARC provided.

Julie Nelson just lost her mother, after years of taking care of her parents it looks like she is destined to move in with her sister and family. If someone were to ask her "what do you want?" she wouldn't know, he has always been the person to rely on.

Eric Vincent is sick of being doted on, his leg break is bad enough without those surrounding him in his face all the time. Then he meets Julie who puts him in his place, she is calm and yet exactly what he needs right now, an assistant who wont cower to him. Hiring Julie while he recovers is a perfect idea, but he doesn't expect to become infatuated with who she really is. Julie doesn't expect to have feelings for Eric either, both act on it but once they act on their attraction can both admit who they truly are?

This was really good. I liked Julie, she is a bit of a doormat but slowly is finding her footing Eric is used to demanding and receiving, Julie just brushes him off. Slow build romance and I appreciated it because you really got insight to their characters. Wonderful story.
