Could of been so good, but fell so flat.

I do not understand anything happening in this book. How are they breathing on Mars? Why do the stronger people wear resistance cages instead of armoring the ones who are weak? How is dust from outside "blowing in"? Why is any of this? What is even happening? Is this entire book a bit and I just went into it with bad expectations? Is it NOT SUPPOSED to make any sense? It was all very frustrating and ultimately I gave up. 2 stars for amusing footnotes.

This is a really fun story. It has a lot of technical brilliance, although some of the styles will be annoying to some I'm a huge fan of world building in foot notes, there's two lovely twists in the story, one I saw coming less than halfway through, one that I didn't catch at all. The basic story is Beauty and the Beast (in space!) but it plays with ideas of power and class warfare and the 'beast ' is a role that switches. Really fun, pacey, Sci fi romance with social themes. Really can't ask for much more than that
