Just go and read Gottman’s 7 Principles of Successful Marriage. In my opinion: too many unnecessary anecdotes and fluffs in attempt to make the author more relatable & likeable which simply backfired.

Part humor, part serious advice, and part "trust me, I've seen everything", this book is a gem of a read that will keep you engaged and laughing while touching on important advice for marriage from someone who has seen them all fall apart. (Though he still gets invited to weddings for some reason.)
I'd advise this for anyone in a relationship, no matter how stable/happy. After all, you can never put too much work into your most important relationships.
