This is NOT a light listen. But the story has so much feeling and emotion, it is worth it.
I don't want to repeat other reviews, or give away plot points, just the journey these characters take from childhood, to adulthood. From broken to healing. You may or may not tear up, if you don't you're lying to us, but that's okay. You go cry in private, we will wait.
The narration on this one elevated the story to another level for me. You did really FEEL the characters. Joe and Erin are a great narration duo.

“The world keeps spinning because you heartbeats exist” fuck.

Every minute of this was excruciatingly dull and painful. I wanted to gouge my eyes out from boredom.

Preparad clinex y psicologos.
Ah, y por cierto, SI OS GUSTA LEER, LEEDLO.

Easily my favorite in the series.
I actually teared up a few times.
I liked both characters and I was happy with the way the author handled both trauma.

Beautiful writing as always with this author as well.
I loved the romance. It was sweet and innocent and very heartwarming.
The nods to literature and the notes they gave each other. It was all very good.

♾️⭐️The Silent Waters

There is always something so daunting about trying to configure words to convey the significant impact something has had on your life, but here I try.

I was in a very bad spot mentally when I stumbled across this book on KU back in March. I read the synopsis and something in me clicked with instant intrigue. I began reading and ended up finishing in a 12 hour period. Someone who really just started getting into reading, this was an entirely new experience for me.

A brief synopsis of the book is as a young child Maggie encounters a traumatic event that forever changes the trajectory of her life. Something is taken from her, and the only person who can hear her silence is her next door neighbor, Brooks.

This is a story spanning many years, beginning in childhood to concluding in adulthood. What starts as a friendship, later develops into one of the most beautiful relationships. As years go on and their lives become extremely different, the one constant remains that no one knows themselves better than each other.

One of the things I love most about this book is the main character Maggie. I have found so much comfort in her character and, to me, in a lot of ways see myself in her. Whether it be certain behaviors like her inner self talk, tender heart/sensitivity, or experiences with constant internal guilt, anxiety/panic attacks, or her wholesome relationship with her dad…it all reflects in my life. The experiences Maggie has gone through are far different than mine but the universal feelings that are brought on by experiencing something terrible or traumatic seem to elicit similar feelings and emotions. The repetitive theme that we aren’t alone is a necessary reminder I always need.

And Brooks!! Literally the most caring, kind hearted, inclusive, empathetic, observant, loving man. He embodies the person we all deserve to have in times of need. Then when trouble finds him, the way his Maggie May shows up for him is so telling of how deep their care and love runs for each other.

Thank you Brittainy Cherry for altering my brain chemistry with this book!

The Elements series has CONSUMED me. Like the previous two, this was filled with so many emotional and heart wrenching moments, but at the same, had hope and a special friendship woven into the story. This balance made it the type of romance I crave
