The Silent Waters was my first book by Brittainy C. Cherry and wow what a read it was! It's heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time! I think I felt just about any emotion you can think of and feel while reading this story! Maggie's story is tragic and beautiful and she is a wonderful character! We follow her and Brooke from childhood to adulthood. We get to see the ups and downs of their lives individually and together! This is a story that is powerful, emotional, at times hard to read but most of all of Love and hope! Definitely a story that will stay with you long after the last page! Thank you Colored Pages Book Tours and Brittainy C. Cherry for sharing this wonderful story with me!
Brittainy Cherry has a way of turning words into raw emotion, and The Silent Waters is no exception. This book shattered me, healed me, and left me breathless all at once.
Maggie May Riley was supposed to live a life filled with laughter and love. But one tragic night changed everything, silencing her voice and trapping her inside the confines of her own fear. And then there’s Brooks Griffin—the boy who promised to wait for her, who became her best friend, her safe place, and, eventually, her greatest love.
The connection between Maggie and Brooks is achingly beautiful, built on whispered words, stolen moments, and the kind of devotion that doesn’t waver—even in the face of life’s cruelest hardships. Their journey isn’t just about romance; it’s about healing, self-discovery, and the resilience of the human heart.
Cherry doesn’t just write love stories—she writes about pain, loss, and the silent battles we fight within ourselves. She makes you feel every moment, every heartbreak, every glimmer of hope. There were passages so powerful that I had to stop, clutch my chest, and let the emotions sink in.
This book made me cry. It made me smile. It made me believe in the kind of love that stays, even when everything else falls apart. If you’re looking for a story that will break you in the best way possible, The Silent Waters is a must-read.
🌿 5 stars isn’t enough. This book is a feeling, a masterpiece, a reminder that even in silence, love speaks the loudest.
Personajes muy estereotipados y planos, trama poco realista, mucho cringe y rabia por momentos
painstakingly beautiful.
absolutely heartbreaking but a story worth reading

A novel about trauma, and how one family
chose to deal with it.
It’s not super deep, but it was a decent read, with a serious subject matter and some romance.

Oh my, did this book impact me. This was such an emotional story, I honestly had tears in my eyes a lot while reading this. Sometimes because of all the pain the characters went through and sometimes because I felt so proud of them for overcoming certain things. I felt deeply connected to all these characters.
The romance between Maggie and Brooks was beautiful and tender and the love they had between them was so strong. My heart hurt so much for them for all the things they went through.
I think Brittainy C. Cherry really shines with her characters. The people in her books (in this one specifically the side characters) are real and they make mistakes that hurt other people but you still care deeply for them anyway. Sometimes books tend to have characters that are a bit *too* perfect and there's nothing wrong with that but the way Brittainy's characters are so flawed and human really made me connect to the story even more.
I loved the romance, but I think all the friendship and family dynamics as well as the trauma representation were all strong on their own too.
