I’m sad to say I closed this book disappointed. I loved St. George’s first installment in the series, The Heiress Gets a Duke, but the sequel didn’t measure up.
I found myself less interested in this couple, often skipping past entire scenes when momentum slowed to a halt.
Additionally, this book felt more standard than the first; I feel I have read this plot 10 times before, and I was presented with far too little to excite me about this particular couple.
As I said before, I loved St. George’s previous book, but here I think she sold herself short.

Graphic: Sexual content
Moderate: Kidnapping
Two or three sexual scenes, each about two pages in length. Kidnapping was “moderate” because it was based more on omission of information/deceit rather than abducting someone against their will.
