It was good for a Fear Street R.L. Stine novel.

WOW! The showdown Deena and Jade had with the killer was tense and nerve-wracking!
A quick question before I continue with my review; why does Storygraph say the Wrong Number is a "lighthearted" read? Nothing about the Wrong Number is lighthearted.
The Wrong Number is the fifth story in the Fear Street series, and it did not disappoint; it was dark, creepy and full of tense moments. R.L. Stine brought the creepiness surrounding Shadyside's infamous Fear Street to life by continuing to interlink the characters and events from previous stories with Deena's, Jade's and Chuck's story.
Although I was expecting a more slasher-style book, I enjoyed the Wrong Number, and it is one of my favourite Fear Street stories I have read so far!
Moderate: Violence, Blood, Car accident, and Murder

This one is an almost perfect Fear Street story. I will never tire of R.L. Stine's overuse of the "we can't tell our parents about this horrible thing because..." trope.

Another fun story from Fear Street. Is it just me, or are all the police in these stories incompetent? Also, the teens in these stories commit so many crimes, from manslaughter, to breaking and entering, and vandalism.

Average for Fear Street. The two girls were pretty dumb at times (stealing evidence to convince the police you're innocent? LOL. Sure, that'll work.), but it was a fast and easy read. No plot twists and straight forward.
