I think this book was very well written, I just wish the ending was juicier.
I just loved all the family relationships. It makes you think of your own and it reminded me why I love reading. There’s a little predictability, but ultimately it’s the family relationships that made me give it 4 stars.

This is my least favorite Leanne Moriarty book, but boy do I love Leanne Moriarty.
This particular book stretched credibility more than her others. I also just don’t like tennis and there was a lot of tennis in it. But this author somehow makes you really care about every character and has such a luxurious way of writing about the details of life that I just can’t get enough.

This was a bookclub pick. We'd read What Alice Forgot by Moriarty a few years ago, so I knew I enjoyed her writing style and was happy to read another of her books.
I opted to listen to this via audible. It's lengthy at around 16 hours, but very entertaining. The narrator Caroline Lee was animated and engaging. There were several different characters to voice and she didn't necessarily put on "manly" or "feminine" voices (which I don't typically enjoy) but she did change the annunciation or inflection while speaking, which really made each character stand out.
This was a very well thought out story and I was super impressed with how even the most seemingly insignificant details were brought full-circle by the end. It's the story of a family, but it also dives into each individual family member and by its resolution, you feel like you have a deep understanding of each character.
I enjoyed this and would recommend it to anyone who is a Moriarty fan, loves a good family drama/mystery, and I'd definitely recommend listening to it.

The first half of the book is a little bit slow, but interesting nonetheless. Once you get to the half-way mark, the plot picks up significantly. I was about 40% through when I started this morning, but ended up finishing the book because I just couldn’t put it down.
I didn’t predict any of the plot twists which made me enjoy the book more, and honestly by the end I didn’t know how to feel about any of the characters. I wanted to hate them and I wanted to love them but this family was so interesting. Overall a great read!

Different from Moriarty's other books but full of good twists and emotion
