What can I say? It was cute, it was cozy, it was perfect for fall.
It's ya so of course it felt a bit young and overly dramatic at points, but that didn't take away from the whimsical feeling. The plot wasn't groundbreaking but it didn't have to be. It was the perfect book to read on a gloomy autumn day with a cup of hot tea.
"The deepest roots" was easy to get through and an enjoyable read.
It did touch on serious topics a lot more than I would have expected and I feel like the girl's friendship could have been focused on a bit more, although that obviously was already a big theme of the book.
I don't have a lot to say, to be honest. So I'll just conclude that it was a pretty decent story with easy to understand writing. It will definitely get you into an autumny mood.

This was lovely. Beautiful character development and diversity and felt realistic esp for a YA novel. Another good book about being female in various circumstances. I now would like to become a mechanic.
