I started this book thinking it would be a plain dark romance rh but boy was I surprised. While dark, I was not expecting the mystery to be this intriguing to me. It’s giving House of Anubis and honestly I love it, lmfao. And the connections Clover has to each of the guys is different in their own ways. I’m curious to finish the duet so i can learn more about the guys.

SYNOPSIS:

Clocer Callahan is the resident witch. She loves the dark arts, spells, tarot readings, crystals, seances, etc. For a class assignment, she wants to figure out the name of the lost daughter of Sarah Anderson, a witch who was killed in trials years and years ago at Titan Falls University. She knows nothing of her brothers’ criminal doings. Two professors, Rossi and Morgan as well as her brothers best friend Rio, are also part of this criminal underground outfit. New student Xavier has also been exiled to TFU to be part of this outfit. The five of them are assassins for the larger organization, they’ve been exiled and made to do all the dirty work. They’re all essentially slaves to the corrupt leader, Bianchi. Rossi wants out, and thinks he knows how to get him and the boys (Tempest and Rio) out of it. He doesn’t trust Morgan, as he is Bianchi’s nephew, and he’s willing to sacrifice Xavier for freedom. He wants Sarah Anderton’s lost jewels, thinking they would allow for their freedom. All four of them (not Tempest) are drawn to Clover for different reasons. She’s drawn to them all as well. She’s also the only one who has put together clues and has gotten close to discovering the jewels. She finally finds Sarah’s lost daughter, discovering her grave, body, and journal. She keeps the journal a secret after she’s found by Tempest. She must reveal that she’s found the daughters grave and body, but keeps the journal. While Xavier is made to escort her back to the dorm, they’re accosted by unknown danger in the woods, Clover almost being kidnapped and Xavier being seriously injured.

Everything goes back to her brother, Tempest. Feels like the book is actually about him.
