Absolutely loved this book! My 10yo and I listened to this on audio in the car on our way to/from school. This was very entertaining & heartwarming. I loved the Vanderbeeker children and their energy & creativity, but especially their big hearts. We can't wait to start the next one in the series.

It’s for children, but I loved it as a 50-something grown-up. It’s a bit like All-of-a-Kind Family or Little Women with a bit of A Christmas Carol thrown in from the Cratchets’ perspective, but in Harlem in modern times. I loved the characters and the love they had for each other and their home.

Also, the audiobook is read by one of my favorite narrators, Robin Miles, which was an added plus

I finally finished! I thought I wasn't going to enjoy it, but I did and reached the end. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

My 9 year old loved this, but he did also stop me several times to mention plotholes. We do read a lot, and sometimes probably above his grade level, but I do think it’s significant to note that he took issue with the validity of certain things.

Sweet family fiction, first in the series. Love the setting (Harlem) and the sibling relationships. For fans of The Penderwicks.

Delightful

I've been looking for a book that would give me the same happy feelings as House In The Cerulean Sea did, and I've finally found it! I cannot wait to read the next one
