Absolutely delightful. Entertaining as a read-through. Practical as a guide.

I never thought that a style guide could be such a witty, amusing book! This book made me feel both amused and informed. The author provides easy clarity to some issues that have long confounded me without making me feel dumb for having to refer back to my big fat style books when I can't remember a rule. I have a feeling that this book will become a well-loved and tagged reference in my library. This book is a fantastic and fun way to learn how to make your (yes, even you!) prose a little better.

First book finished for 24in48!
Grammar nerd book, yaaaaas! Copy-editing nerd book, yaaaaaas! Book with many funny footnotes, yaaaaaas!
If you want to read an entertaining book about something useful - like learning to write well - that is not even remotely like our school nemesis, the wretched Strunk & White, then you need this book.

I LOVED this book. I'm going to read it again and refer to it over and over and over. I'm going to recommend it to all of my friends. Dreyer is witty and funny and kind. Definitely a book for the keeper shelf.

This book is informative and amusing. Dreyer’s humor and clever footnotes take what should be a dry, dull text and transforms it into a highly entertaining read.
I highly recommend this for people who write. Which, really, most of us do to some extent.

Funny, insightful, totally enjoyable. This is making my gift list for my friends who aspire to be authors. Thanks to Connie Schultz and Sherrod Brown and Twitter!

The first few chapters are witty and informative, with multiple laugh-out-loud moments.
The end of the book turns into long lists, which might be useful, but not so fun to read.
Dreyer's sense of humor is dry and snarky, and he uses it liberally throughout. Speaking of liberally - his political leanings come through in places, with several cheap (but not necessarily undeserved) shots at the 45th President of the United States. It didn't bother me, but some might find it heavy-handed.
