Dream Eyes

Jayne Ann Krentz

3.53 AVERAGE

When Gwen Frazier finds her friend, Evelyn Ballinger, dead, it is up to her and paranormal investigator Judson Coppersmith to find the murderer before Gwen either gets blamed or ends up dead.
This is a typical Jayne Ann Krentz read, involving the paranormal, special talents and crystals. There is a nod to Arcane, a cat that behaves a lot like the dust bunnies from her Futuristic Harmony world (which she writes as Jayne Castle) and the usual romance between the two main characters.
An enjoyable read from an author who never disappoints.

Eh, how did this get two starred reviews? JAK's books are solid guilty pleasure reads for me, most enjoyable when she makes me believe in the chemistry of the leads. That doesn't happen here: Krentz doesn't make me believe in Judson's and Gwen's attraction, but rather introduces it as a fact which happen before the book begins. Overall, Krentz has done all this better before.

good in her style

Nice summer read. I actually got into it. Quick and fun. Story about paranormal people and their talents. It was the second book in the series and even though I didn't read the first it was OK.

This book is very similar to Ms. Krentz Harmony series. There are people with psychic abilities and they often work through crystals just as in the Harmony books. The heroine, Abby, is fine and so is the hero. You can't say that about all of Ms. Krentz's heroes, however. I always pick up her books hoping it's not one with a terrible hero.

I am on record as loving Krentz -- she is one of my favorite brands of reading junkfood. This was not my favorite of her books though. I wanted to know more about the characters, especially our hero. A fun read, but there are better.
