I have to say that I was very impressed with this book.
After the events of Carry On it was nice to see the characters again after those events and how they are dealing with it. It isn't something you usually see in books and it was nice to explore. We get to see how Simon and Baz's relationship has developed and how Simon is dealing with life.
I also liked that they came to America and were doing a cross-country trip and that, as time went on, they came to realize things about themselves.
It was different from Carry On, but in a good way and I really enjoyed it.

I really like Baz and Penny's relationship in this one, and some of Baz's moments in the second half. Simon is really in my brain this time around and I'm not sure why, but I guess it's chill.

Now I’m fully caught up in my rereads for Anywhere the Wind Blows which came out today. i enjoyed this book so much more than i remember (i think i was just pissed about the cliffhanger originally). this book perfectly expands the world, the magic, the characters, the themes. it’s a stellar sequel and i’d argue leagues better than the first. can’t wait to finish the trilogy and ball my eyes out.

Another book that I started years ago that I failed to get into and will never try reading again.
