This book was a very easy read and good for a light palette cleanser-esque type of story. I find most Elin Hilderbrand books to be hit or miss. This one was personally a miss for me. I did not find any of the characters to be like able or have any redeeming qualities. There is also no solid ending. The “notebook” that Beth left seemed very out of touch for her character. She was very relaxed in flashbacks, but wanted to plan her daughter’s wedding to a tee. I found it very annoying. Jenna was also extremely immature (as were most of the characters). Also the last page of the notebook was nothing remarkable in my eyes. There was so much lead up to it too. AND where do Jenna and Finn go from here? Is their friendship over??

Another fun, can't put down, beach read from Elin Hilderbrand. Very fun structure with several points of view (not bride or groom), The Notebook, and side notes from other characters.

This one was hard to figure out. It's about a very lavish wedding, like six figures lavish, that takes place on Nantucket Island. The bride's mother died 7 years previously and left an incredibly detailed wedding plan notebook for her youngest daughter since she knew she wouldn't live to see the wedding. This document is the blueprint by which everything occurs, and I never knew if I was supposed to find it charming or obnoxious. I mean, she planned the bouquet, the bridesmaid dresses, every tiny detail. And the youngest daughter never seems to be upset about this control freak from beyond the grave.
I did this one on audio, and the narrator did a good job. There were lots of point of view characters and voices to keep track of.

This one was a struggle-fest for me. Really slow moving and boring. I hung in there because I’m not a quitter, hoping to be rewarded with a great ending at least. Disappointing. My least favorite of all of Hilderbrand’s books.
