Jeg læste denne færdig, men det holdt hårdt. Der er MANGE personer at holde styr på, og ikke en overvældende mængde substans i fortællingen! Men holder man ud, bliver man trods alt suget lidt ind i historien og lader sig underholde.
A perfect beach read on a snowy day, and an excellent way to pass the Super Bowl.
This book was a very easy read and good for a light palette cleanser-esque type of story. I find most Elin Hilderbrand books to be hit or miss. This one was personally a miss for me. I did not find any of the characters to be like able or have any redeeming qualities. There is also no solid ending. The “notebook” that Beth left seemed very out of touch for her character. She was very relaxed in flashbacks, but wanted to plan her daughter’s wedding to a tee. I found it very annoying. Jenna was also extremely immature (as were most of the characters). Also the last page of the notebook was nothing remarkable in my eyes. There was so much lead up to it too. AND where do Jenna and Finn go from here? Is their friendship over??

This is a nice snow day book. I think one of her other books has these same characters and this same wedding from another's point of view so I spent some time trying to remember that book. Still a great story.
Perhaps the fact that I read this sitting on the beach, under an umbrella, with my toes in the sand, set me up for an absolutely perfect beach-read experience, but I really enjoyed this! I've read several of Elin Hilderbrand's books, love the Nantucket setting, and couldn't wait to purchase this for my kindle to read on my beach holiday! Family relationships, beautiful location, second chances, coming home again, a little romance, all adds up to a great escape. I reread it on a second beach vacation.
