This book was great. I don't really know what to think of it except that it was very dark and messed up, and I feel like anything else I might say could be a spoiler. I will say though, I thought psychological thrillers would be more like this and less like what they're actually like. Also, the romance definitely takes a back seat in this book, though it exists, and there are on page sex scenes. I would recommend this book.
The only  thing I wished would've been done that wasn't was for Lowen to have tried to explore more which of verity's writings were true, or to have had more of their lives included with Lowen trying to wither puzzle out what was true, or to cope with holding such a big secret in - that verity might have been innocent.

If you have never read a thriller before I recommend you read it. It leaves you with so.many questions. Definitely look up trigger warnings, it will leave you shocked.

Wow, this book was quite a ride. I really enjoyed the book-within-a-book chapters in which we were reading Verity's autobiography, I thought that was super interesting and gripping. To be honest I found the chapters from Lowen's perspective kind of boring because she is not a very well-developed character, and not much happens in those chapters either. I did like Lowen and Jeremy's relationship and the slow-burn romance we got to witness between the two of them, though, again, I wasn't super invested because of the lack of characterization. I also liked the sexual content in this, I mostly read mystery/thrillers or YA so I don't read a lot about sex but I like it when I do, so I definitely enjoyed how graphically and frequently sex was described.

THE TWIST THOUGH!!! I did not see it coming at all, though if you go into this book knowing there is a big twist at the end you might guess it. I didn't know this book had a big twist at the end, and honestly that made for a better reading experience because I was super shocked at the conclusion of this story. I thought it was a great twist and put the whole book into a new perspective.

Overall, a VERY interesting book with slightly underdeveloped characters and a slow-burn romance that was perhaps too slow for my taste. I think I will be picking up Layla from Colleen Hoover, and I have my eye on Never Never as well!
