DID NOT FINISH

This was the stupidest piece of steaming radioactive trash I've ever had the misfortune to stumble across.  It reads like a failed Wattpad project.  Ive never felt so unsafe in my life just lying on my bed reading a book.  I would rather be visited by the 3 ghosts of Chrismas than have to read another sentence.  Vile.  Grossly offensive.  Insensitive.  And also badly edited. 0/10 stars.

I'll be honest I don't know how I feel about much of this book, but I liked enough of it that I will probably read the rest of the series. But man this is not for the faint of heart.

Where to begin. Y'all. We all need some serious therapy... cause wth did I just read?! This was sooooo....dark? Twisted? Disturbing? The opening alone has me worried for all of us for not DNFing and rooting for them by the middle of the book. I obviously read the unedited/censored version with "the scene" and my jaw was on the floor!! Did I continue? Yes.  Did I enjoy it? Yes, but not as much as God of Fury! That one is still my favorite. I'm excited for Mia and Landon's story though!! Even though I hate Landon! lol Anyway, Rina, girl! Are you alright? I'm sure we can get a group therapy discount!

DID NOT FINISH: 52%

I love a dark romance as much as the next girl but what the fuck was this?🤔

The first 50% (at least, because that’s all I read) is 80% just SA between the MC’s… and I know it’s said that she has a fantasy about it but it just felt weird and icky, and it just kept happening—I couldn’t carry on. I was honestly also just bored and felt nothing for the characters and their romance/relationship. Maybe it gets better? But I’ve had enoughšŸ˜‚

Super disappointed because I’ve been looking forward to this series for a while now…I will persevere and give book 2 a go at some point.

I’ve had the Legacy of Gods series on my tbr for forever, but it never quite felt like the right time. Last year I read the fifth book on a whim and loved it.

This year, the planets aligned and the whole series went on sale and I snapped them up just in time for a dark romance craving to hit.

And jee-zuss is this dark. Not in the bloody way, though there’s certainly plenty of that. But in the way Glyndon and Killian’s relationship unfolds and the way that the author makes no apologies or concessions for who and what the mmc is.

Starting a romantic arc with blatant noncon between the mains is certainly a choice. The fact that the mmc’s views on that never change or waver? Ballsy.

And honestly? I’m not mad about it. Killian is a card carrying psychopath and not in the fun, unrealistic Diesel way. The cold this man is capable of speaks directly to my coal dark heart and I adore everything about this story.

It’s most definitely not for everyone. The kind of ā€˜not for everyone’ that means I would probably not rec it to someone I wasn’t absolutely positive had read/enjoyed authors like Rina Kent and Lauren Biel.

But for the right person, this book is stunning and definitely a fun ride.

I went into this blind because I love dark romance, but when the first 5 chapters only had content rape content, I looked more into the book.
it seems like the rapist becomes a main love interest and turns into a ā€œromanceā€ from there. Stories of falling for your rapist are terrible.
these aren’t for me.
