I struggled to finish this book. I listened to the audiobook and the first 48% of the book was so uninteresting I really was going to DNF. However I decided to finish it and I’m happy the rest of the story wasn’t bad. I did have to listen to it at 2.00 speed because the narrators could have put more effort but they weren’t horrible.

Romance or Stockholm syndrome? The MMC is a literal sociopath who is constantly threatening the FMC and she can’t get away from him until she
finally gives in and decides she likes it.
The plot was so thin it was transparent.

God of Malice by Rina Kent is a dark romance and is the first book of her Legacy of Gods series.

This was my first ever Rina Kent book. I know her reader’s guide states that all of her series, duets, and standalones can be read independently. However, I felt a bit like I got dropped into a setting that I should understand but really had no idea who was who or what was happening. I have to assume that reading her earlier series first would have helped this book make a lot more sense. That being said, yes, you can absolutely start with this book but I do wish that I’d read her others first.

So. This is a dark romance. I’ve realized in the last few months that I much prefer gray romance vs. dark romance. And the author’s note in the beginning almost talked me out of reading this one. But, I did go ahead and read it, because (let’s be real here), I already bought the whole series after hearing good things about it and (most importantly!) because of the pretty sprayed edge colors.

I did like this one but I absolutely have mixed feelings about it. There were some parts I liked, some parts I didn’t like, some parts that were hot, and, overall, I flew through the pages, which usually means I’m liking it. Bottom line? Crazy, spoiled rich college kids are absolutely exhausting. And now I can’t wait to read the others in the series.

Torn about this one. On the one hand, is 50% assault, but in the other she low key likes it? Like I said, undecided.

This was entertaining if nothing else and the male characters made it very interesting to follow, the FMC was a little dull which is saying something when she’s literally ping ponging between liking the fucked up situation and not.

In really interested in seeing the other guys stories, even if they’ll be just as fucked up.
