This book was written really well, I laughed out loud multiple times, and was truly invested in the characters.
The author's writing is amazing, and I can't wait to read more of her books. I really was rooting for them protecting each other and I loved how much of a slow burn it was. I read it in one sitting, it was so entertaining!
I gave 4 stars because while I really loved this romance as a fiction book, Josh's behavior towards Lucy would not fly in real life. (atleast I sure as hell hope it wouldn't just be labeled as 'boys will be boys') It's juvenile to be cruel to the person you like. It left a bad taste in my mouth since the vitriol wasn't necessarily needed the way it was executed. She was treated like shit and we're supposed to just forgive him and have it glossed over without any genuine apology.
This feels more like a bully romance than an enemies to lovers.

If you have the UK version of this book, then you’ll see that it has the r-slur on page 358. Would not recommend, love interest is very creepy as well. Read ✨any other book✨ and it will be better than this. There are so many other enemies to lovers books out there.

Why do all romances have the guy with some mystery that they keep a complete secret until they’re at risk of losing the girl? Oh because it wasn’t convenient to tell her?

I had high expectations for this book considering how popular it has been on booktok. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The main character gave me a lot of "pick me" vibes and I was not here for it. In almost every chapter there were mentions about how small and dainty she was and quite frankly it was very aggravating. Like ok, we get it. You're short. Get over it. Additionally, I found this book to follow similar plot lines and formatting to Wattpad stories 12 year olds write. Regardless, I do admit there were positive points in this book in which I enjoyed. I did find it rather slow paced but if you're into that, definitely recommend.
