This book was much slower than I wanted it to be. I was on Chapter 41 before the author finally revealed what the school was and why everything was so strange. However, I do appreciate the fact that the book consists of the entire inner dialogue of the main character, Grace. I liked being able to get fully immersed into her head and understand everything she was thinking and feeling. I was anxious to get started on the next book because it definitely ended on a cliff-hanger.

Grace, a high school junior, recently lost her parents and has to move to Katmere, her uncle's remote boarding school. She's hurt and trying to make the best of a terrible situation when she runs into two mysterious boys who make her squirm as much as they put her at ease - or piss her off. When reading a modern vampire romance, reading for what it is can be one of the most important angles from which to approach it. I don't know the history of this books writing, but it's written like a serial fan fiction, and that's a good thing. The chapters are long short, but descriptions long enough with action in each one. Nearly every chapter ends on a cliffhanger.

Tracy Wolff brings a popular love-match vampire romance in the magical boarding school that so many fans wanted to see. We know this is a needed addition to the shelves because there is so much fan fiction from previous offerings telling the world that this book has an audience waiting. The guys are "hot" and the love is back and forth with a lot of Grace's internal thoughts as she wavers between love and absolute annoyance.

Grace settles into a dorm room with a cousin she loves but needs to become re-antiquated with while fending off stares and ... attacks. It turns out that Grace stepped into the middle of a turf war and she might be one of the big players. Told entirely from Grace's point of view, we enter the factioned population in the Alaskan wilderness and hope she can survive.

Id prefer to give this 0 stars but I think .25 is somehow more insulting.  If you have the reading comprehension of a 12 year old you will love this.

Sooooo it's like Twilight, meets Harry Potter, meets ACOTAR, add elements to a bag, shake it up, pull stuff out, and slap it all together poorly.
