i love JSB but dear god xochitl was so annoying that i could barely make it thru this which is perfect for what her character is supposed to be but it also made it tough to read.

Princess Takes Academy is a short novella that focuses on our Princess of Unicorns, Xochitl. In this book, we are given a glimpse of what will be her life in the Academy of Blood. After years of begging her family to join Keras at the Academy, she was given permission by Queen Shara. Finally getting her wish to be reunited with her childhood friend and maybe start getting Blood on her own to build her power, she wasn't expecting the Keras that greeted her. Can't wait to read more from this new series!

Ok, I need more of this NOW! So much was left to be desired. I think I'm finally up-to-date on everything Vampire Queen related. I hope she gets her Unicorn Blood

A quick and we'll worth your while read! If you follow Queen Shara then you've likely been wondering about this little love! She a strong and hard headed personality who is up for a challenge and some possible danger. I can't wait to read more about her story and the HUGE spoiler that's in this book for the main story line!!!

Bratty Princess of Unicorns
I liked this story in that it's a perfect transition (prequel if you will) to Xochitl's story. She's a young child who had taken her first Blood very early in life. In growing and natural rebellion and discovering who she is (transitioning from a little girl all about pinks and purples and glitter and into a tomboy stage) she naturally hits a rebellion from her parents. However, this leads her and her Blood, Karas, into some SERIOUS trouble.
It's not explicit reading but it's not YA either.

Beyond pissed at the cliff hanger, but delightfully engaging tale.
