My rating is indubitably tied to my lack of prior experience with this cultural wave, and hence any of its predecessors, not to mention how long ago it was that I read it. I watched the movies before I started the books and, as usual, the book is better. There’s so much more detail and depth to the characters in the book and it has been so much fun to get to know them and the story better.
