Very cute book, easy to read, fun and light headed for a book containing murder. Will be reading the rest in the series for sure!

Spent a lot of time complaining about the neighbors messy yard which I can understand because it was all garbage, but to shame him for having women over was crappy. Also didn't like the huge ordeal it was that people didn't want a pink blanket for their child. What an over reaction. Dnf at 25%

As I am not a knitter, I wasn't sure how I would enjoy the series. I had received a copy of the second book and the covers are adorable so I figured, what do I have to lose. With that said, I did enjoy it. It is a really fun book with a great cast of characters who are easily likable and relatable. I am finding more and more cozies with middle aged, independent protagonists and that is very appealing to me as that is what I am. Also, a few of the cast are empty nesters. As I am a recent empty nester, it was a good fit for me to read when I needed it. The plot is very light and endearing (yes for a cozy), definitely not a grit your teeth mystery. Even though murder is involved, it was almost refreshing. Sometimes, that's just what you need. I have already moved on to book 2, Died in the Wool. I have the audio versions as well as the digital. The narrator, Callie Beaulieu, is great. She has narrated for several books I've listened to and I thoroughly enjoy her.

Enjoyable first book in a series. I look forward to hearing more from the Knit and Nibble group.Pamela and her neighbor and fellow knitter try to figure out who killed their newest group member, before they do, another body shows up. A decently challenging mystery story.

I was attracted by the cover, so aww! The book is good, a well written mystery with a lot of twist and very interesting and well developed characters.
A great start for a new series.
Even it's a bit slow at the beginning once the murder takes place it becomes a real page turner, couldn't let it down. It kept me guessing till the end.
I'm curious to know what the next developments will be and look forward to the next instalment.
Many thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley

This book caught my eye at my local library because I’m a knitter, a baker, I love cats, and mystery is my favourite genre. Felt like it was a series made for me! I enjoyed the story overall and found it an easy read. I loved the knitting club meetings and the descriptions of the baking and food being prepared.

There wasn’t anything gripping or shocking about the mystery and that was a bit disappointing but I’ve decided not to take it that seriously. The characters referenced made for tv mysteries a few times and the story definitely felt like a hallmark series. So it was fun and as lighthearted as a cheesy murder mystery could be.

I will say with the writing there were a few details the author added in that felt like she was just trying to up the word count or something. One example that sticks out in my mind is when Pamela and her friend are getting into the car, her friend gets into the drivers seat and then Pamela asks her to unlock her passenger door and that’s how the chapter ends.. why not just say they got in the car? Seems like a detail trying to add depth to the story but instead missed the mark and took me out of it and that was a theme with many (in my opinion) unnecessary details throughout the book. But once I accepted that that’s how the author writes I learned to ignore it and it wasn’t too bad.

Even with those few little things I did enjoy reading the book, it was a fun short escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series to see what Pamela gets up to next and to hear more about Catrina!

When Pamela finds her friend Amy dead in the bushes with a knitting needle through her heart, she begins looking at clues to find out who killed her. The story is a fun to read mystery with knitting instructions and a recipe at the end of the book!

The cat and the dog were the best characters. This was the first time I've read a cozy mystery and thought the main character was being a noisy busybody.
