An intriguing read. Some things were so wacky in this book but I can sort of understand the relationship between Vaughn and Lenora. They complemented each other well but yeah, the ending was also pretty rushed.

There’s tortured heroes and then there’s Vaughn Spencer. LJ Shen created a new level of torture with this novel.
While Broken Knight is still my favorite of three, I have to say this one is the most interesting. A complex story line combined with a confusing romance.
I didn’t know whether to hate or love Vaughn. He’s such an enigma. He’s doing something in the background of this novel and it’s not revealed until much later, giving the reader ample time to decide if they dislike him or not. He’s dark. His interactions with Len seem dark, when all along he’s such a sweet and loving guy.
Vaughn's whole story is about revenge that Len is caught in the middle of. He has his own reasons for being around her, but he isn’t after her per se.
Complex but great story!

It’s much heavier than I thought.
First half of the book is 2 stars and second half is 4 stars, which makes my overall rating 3 stars.
