This was the latest audiobook the kids and I listened to while driving. I think the first book in the series was the best, but the rest, including this one, were amusing and the kids enjoyed them.

My son and I absolutely loved this. It was laugh-out-loud funny for both of us.

I only read this much because I forgot to bring my book to Silent Book Club and this was the only book available in the Free Little Library across the street 🫣

The time travel aspect of this series is a little discordant to me - Tales is clearly set several decades ago and then Double Fudge catapults into the time of cell phones and Harry Potter. I get that it is fiction, but it makes the series not read like a series. (I have only read those two - perhaps she finesses it some way with the intervening books.)

I listened to the audio read by the author which made it more engaging, but the meandering with the odd cousin family takes it off the rails a bit for me. And, Fudge's miraculous turn from Mr. Miser to recognizing that the best things in life are free doesn't feel earned.

I'm glad she got the chance to write this for her grandson (as she discusses in the opening).
