I absolutely adored this book. While it may be a little bit longer, I definitely found it loveable and worth it because it was so interesting to see Theo the main character grow up and become what he will be: for better or worse. The writing style of this book is also so like Charles Dickens with a modern twist it would be hard to say no. The imagery is something greater than I would ever wish to create for myself and Boris was definitely my favorite character who made this book that more amazing.

I really wanted to love this book after hearing rave reviews, but I just kept reading and hoping it would get better. There are some really beautiful parts and it is really well written. I just wish it was 500 pages shorter.

Never before had I loved a book so much and hated the main character as deeply as I hate Theo Decker. 

The prose is gorgeous but the book is simply too long. For nearly  800 pages one would expect plot to exist, but it only shows itself maybe 500 pages in, if thaf. As for character work— well. One of the biggest themes is horrible white ben don't change.
