A blood-red manga featuring a sadistic nun and her “dog” a dhampir.

Welcome to a world where vampires (and dhampirs) live and where nuns (and police officers) try to help out the general population. I just love this setting of a normal world with normal people but hey there are some vampires in the mix (like Trinity Blood). Add to that a dash of yuri and humour and I am in. I just had to try out this book.

Dorothy is a nun at the church, and not just any nun but a very special will-kick-your-butt nun. But she is also a tad cough odd. For a nun at least. She is quite pervy and she is highly sadistic. She can look all innocent, but oh be warned what goes behind that face. I loved her from the start. Her design, her personality. She is just so evil at times and while at times she does go a bit too far with Maria (the treating her like a dog is just a minor thing given how far she goes with that and the things she says/does), she was my favourite character. I had a laugh how she was undeterred by Maria’s rage. Well, OK, she gets a bit off on it.

Maria is our Dhampir and a kick-ass one at that. She is apparently searching for her sister, Noel (really mom naming your kids Noel and Maria) and nothing will stand between her and her sister. While I liked Maria a lot, at times I wished she would just listen to Dorothy for once. Yes, not all that comes out of Dorothy’s mouth should be followed, sure, but there are some good tips/hints there. I loved how she transformed when she had some yummy blood, though haha I can imagine the first time she saw her outfit she just flipped, I would have done the same. ;P

There are quite some great action scenes and lots of explosions and vampires going BOOM (or splat). I really enjoyed those action scenes and loved seeing Dorothy and Maria in full combat mode.

The art was just perfection, I love the outfits the girls wear (this sounds mighty wrong but I will go with it XD), and I love love Dorothy’s design. It is chef kiss perfect. I love her facial expression, the artist really captures her pervert/sadistic side to a t.

All in all, this is certainly a manga I will keep on reading. It got vampires, horror and a tad of gore, and tons of sexiness though we need more and Dorothy. Oh, and I need to know more about that girl at the end!
