Involves world's first foursome featuring a man, a woman, a ghost and a cat.

Spoiler alert - no orgasms were achieved during aforementioned foursome.

Oof. A brilliantly told but deeply unpleasant story.

An interesting and considered approach to the translation.

i get y this is important for its time and so on but i found the characterization to be a bit too extreme to really engage with the story

I really liked the first third of this book, even the second third. But I think it could have been shorter. The end is very repetitive and tiring to read, I understand the author wanted tho show just how bad the characters feel but I understood that by page 150 just as well as I did by page 200...
But all in all it was an interesting read. Might grab another Zola book in the future.
