The first 75% of this book was so good and had me captivated. I just found there was so many twists that felt rushed and not elaborated. If you like pirates of the caribbean you'll enjoy this

Honestly this book was pretty mediocre for me. The plot was all over the place most of the time and there were many mistakes throughout the book (I’m assuming an editor was not involved, so fair enough). I’m not even sure I can say I liked Georgette’s character, though I do appreciate how she was portrayed as strong and capable, even though she was naïve as well.

I guessed back in chapter 3 that the ‘lost prince’ was alive and well and that he was this mysterious Captain Stone - it was pretty obvious. But it took Georgette so long to figure it out, even after she learned his name was Mannington, just like the Prince, which is an incredibly unusual (and stupid) name.

The more I think about it, the more I really didn’t enjoy it tbh.

I do not understand why this is classed as dark romance. To me this was a topical book about pirates and how they are. yes there were some minor scene that could use a warning at the beginning. They were very curtained tho.

this book was so good and has a lot of things in it: Action. Enemies to lovers. Pirates. Myth. Magic. the book is so fast paced that you could read in one sitting. the characters were good and fun to follow, the plot is good and had some amazing twists. I had a good time and will continue the series. if you love the little mermaid and Pirates of the Caribbean this book will be a book for you

I REALLY wanted to like it but it fell flat for me. The whole plot was quite repetitive- Georgette and the Captain start having a moment, then another enemy comes in to interrupt. The twist that him and Edward were brothers I’d guessed from the very beginning, and that Georgette’s mother was the Goddess was also too easily led.

Everything felt rushed and not super fleshed out.
