Very fast-paced and lots of adventure. Some of the scenes seemed rushed and unrealistic. Still an enjoyable and quick read.

The TikTok trailer really sold this; unfortunately I was very disappointed, especially since I love pirate stories. The author got some stuff right about pirate life, but most of it was pretty inacurate. You would think spending large amounts of time on a ship would form some bond of comraderie or loyalty among the crew, but that was pretty much nonexistent. I am a huge fan of the guy falling first but there was zero developement in that area. One moment he takes the MC away as a means to collect a debt, the next he is super protective and attached to her and the reader is not given any explanation other than she's pretty and "there's something different" about her. The scenes were disjointed, and plot was trying to do too much. This book had potential, but needed some serious polishing.
