This is definitely going down as one of my favourites for the year.

Exceptionally well written, the style was unusual yet didn't feel awkward at all. The characterisation was executed incredibly well in my opinion and I really did connect with everyone.

Laurel's friends were real, fleshed out people. They weren't just there to exist, they added depth to the story and I loved getting to know them, and fighting for them too.

"We will stay where the sky is deep electric blue, never turning to night—a place beyond time that can’t be touched."

This was a terrible waste of time. Seriously this book was just painfully slow, boring and filled with absolutely nothing noteworthy.
Laurel has no personality and tells the most boring stories you can imagine.
Dear Kurt Cobain,
Let me tell you how I don't know what to wear for school.
Dear Judy Garland,
Let me tell you how I can bore you to death by telling you things about you!
Dear John Keats,
Let me tell you about the most childish New Year's party ever.

Her writing in my head sounds like a monotone voice completely void of any kind of emotion. On top of that immense boredom, she is childish. She comes across as a ten year old, telling an adult about what she has seen and feeling all kinds of sophisticated when she get's an intelligent sounding word right.
Other than that there is no personality to her. It's just all so so boring, it really is bad.

Seriously, don't waste your time on this book!

Nuestras vidas importan.
-Laurel."

I give up. I made it 75 pages in. I normally give myself 100 pages before I give up but not on this one. Sorry :(
