The Inheritance Cycle is one of my favorite book series. Its what sparked my love of high fantasy. This book I have given only 4 stars for the fact that it is the most boring out of all 4 of the books. I personally found the book interesting from a world-building perspective, you learn a lot about Alagaesia and its magic in this book, but it is far from a thrilling page turner. If you prepare for that, then I think this book can still be an enjoyable read! It definitely was for me.

A little longer than it needed to be but more of how I felt about Eragon. Good palette cleaner.

It took forever reading this a chapter at a time with my kids at bedtime but they loved it. The plot twist blew their minds.

I'm rereading this series in preparation for the new book just released from the world of Alygaesia: MURTAGH. I absolutely adored these books when I first read them years ago and they hold up on rereading. They are sort of Tolkien-light, but as long as you aren't judgy that doesn't have to be a bad thing. I highly recommend the audiobooks read by Gerard Doyle. He does a magnificent job portraying these characters - excellent narration.

This series is one of my all time favorites. In my opinion, the bigger the book, the better and this is just such an amazing novel. I can't say enough good things about it! The plot, the characters, the world building, everything.
