I think I need to make a new shelf for books that I absolutely know I'll enjoy reading again. All the Discworld will go on that shelf, of course, and everything I've read so far by this author. Everything that I give 5 stars to will obviously automatically go on the shelf, but there could well be others. Maybe that can be a challenge for the year I turn 70 - re-read everything I've ever loved.

So yes, this is a definite re-read. It's very funny, it's a wonderful mash-up of a few fairytales, the chief protagonist is acerbic-with-a-heart, the love interest is dim-but-nice-and-you-could-get-very-fond-of-him, and the villains are suitably real-fairytale-nasty. Brilliant use of old-fashioned language and vocabulary - no dumbing it down for an easy read, yet it's still a quick and fun story. Top marks!

What a vocabulary! Kindl clearly won't dumb things down for YA readers. I enjoyed every page.

This is my favorite book of all time! I think it is just amazing! I love the story line and how full of energy the characters are! I love all the funny lines and saracasm. Love it all!

Reading it as an adult I couldn't stand all the 'twas and 'twills. Too many gaps and shallow characters in the story for me to enjoy.

This was a fun, silly read. I was annoyed by the way everyone talked. Maybe it could add to the silliness, but it just seemed too much to me. If she talked that way, she would also think that way, right? I loved the incorporation of all sorts of different fairy tales.

I finally got around to reading this, though it was recommended to me four or five years ago. It was very cute, and incorporated a lot of fairy tale elements into it. The writing was witty and humorous, and I'm glad to own a copy of it now!

The overall concept really wasn't my thing, plus there were a lot of inconsistencies and the language drove me bonkers. BUT, having chosen it at the request of my faithful kids book club members to read a fairy tale/kings and queens book, I think they'll love it and I think we'll have a good time talking about it.

I absolutely hated this book it was very lengthy and boring! It had my attention lingering from the first page I do not reccomend!
