Meegwetch, is all I can think to say. This was really beautiful, and hits close to home. I'm so glad my friends decided to read it with me.

The dialogue and characterization was so real. I know these people. I can hear them speak in my mind. Nanabush was charming. Hazel was relatable. I just really appreciate the effort and the story. I also loved the addition of the illustrations. This was just such a treat.

Thanks again.

Beautiful exploration of grief and healing, with a side helping of spiritualism/mysticism. I am glad for the opportunity to learn more about Anishnaabe culture and to push past my reading comfort zone. I also really enjoyed the illustrations, they were lovely and brings so much more to the reading experience.

Loved Hazel, and this story of coming home.
