Final Catcall

Sofie Kelly

In no small part thanks to the explicit SA scene at the end and the sexual harassment all throughout the book, I’m done with this fucking series. Sofie Kelly needs a lesson-if not twenty—in consent and boundaries if she thinks what she’s been writing is anything close to romance. Fuck this.

I loved how the end of book #4 of this series became the prologue for Final Catcall (book #5), but with a catch! It was great to start off the book with something totally unexpected. Unfortunately the two weeks that ex-boyfriend Andrew spent trying to woo Kathleen back was written awkwardly. It just didn’t fit well in the storyline and not much of their interaction seemed logical. In fact, Kathleen and Andrew barely saw each other during that time. Weird. On the positive side, I liked the dynamics between Kathleen and her cats, Owen & Hercules, Kathleen and her friends, and Kathleen and Marcus.

Another great Magical Cats novel! Well paced plot, a believable mystery, likeable characters (except for Andrew, I couldn't stand him) and a great ending.

Gotta say that was maybe the most intense villain tried to kill the MC in a cosy mystery I have ever read. I literally said “wait what??”

I like this series, it's a fun and relaxing read, it is much more a cozy mystery then a paranormal no matter the title of the series. If you enjoy a good cat mystery with a tiny touch of magic this would be the series for you, best to start with book 1 as there is a series plot along with the standalone mystery in each book.

Love the series. What more can I say?
