I jumped into this one following an epic Dan Jones battle - those books are great but take a little something out of you. This book is one of the longer Dark Tower stories and at times it was a bit tough to get through honestly. Great story that I enjoyed but as others have noted, sometimes the back story in this case perhaps went a little too deep. Perhaps I should have cleansed the reading pallet with a shorter book between these two but regardless, I continue to enjoy the Dark Tower series and look forward to the home stretch. Great story telling as always by the master Stephen King.

Thank God there was more action than in Wizard and Glass. A familiar face from another Stephen King book shows up and plays an integral part of this plot, so don't skip on reading 'Salem's Lot between Wizard and Wolves. A lot of scheming, a lot of blossoming romances, Roland being my favorite color of morally grey, a lot of action. Interestingly paced, and also a lot of intrigue and more slow burn world building. Overall, it earned a 7/10 from me, as some parts did admittedly feel disjointed and some parts just fell flat. Still a great addition to the series and another wonderful adventure along the path of the Beam.

I enjoyed getting to know more of Jake in this book and how there are more mentions and connections to King’s other works. But some narratives again felt disconnected, hence the lower rating for me. Still had some fun though and I’m invested in the journey to the end.
