pretty sure this is one of only about three or four shakespeares that I hadn't yet read! not my absolute favorite, but enjoyable all the same :)

Honestly, this is the first Shakespeare play that I have read and actually enjoyed. I usually am not a fan of his plays, so it was a pleasant surprised. It also had a better romance than Romeo and Juliet.

DUKE SENIOR: Dost thou believe, Orlando, that the boy
Can do all this that he hath promised?

ORLANDO: I sometimes do believe, and
sometimes do not;
As those that fear they hope, and
know they fear.

What made me read Shakespeare at 1am? We'll never know. Honestly, this was so much fun. Rosalind is such an icon and I really loved her character. Also, this was the first Shakespeare comedy I've ever read and I totally approve.

Not Shakespeare's best, but enjoyable nonetheless. Although I have to ask, what is his obsession with comedies (because I've mostly read his comedies so far) involving crossdressing? 😂 Especially when you consider that all actors in his time would have been men, so at one point in this play we'd have had a man pretending to be a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman.

good stuff

I read this for one of my college classes.
Overall, I think that this play represents a lot of different types of love mainly through the four couples and the two sets of siblings.
I felt that the marriages at the end happened very rapidly and without a lot of thought, but it's one of Shakespeare's comedies, so I should have seen that coming.
I would read it again.
Same as rating above.
