This book is gonna sit with me - love a queer survival story, and I felt connected to so many of the characters. That being said, some of it felt heavy-handed, and I really wanted to understand more about how the Inside society worked, world-building wise.

I was enthralled by this, start to finish. While I found the ending to be a bit rushed/unearned, I don't think it necessarily took away from how much I largely enjoyed reading it. This might just successfully get me into the sci-fi genre. Also, I love to hate on girlboss "feminism." Thanks to the author for that.

A fast read, the pace was really propulsive. But, with that, some nuance that I would have enjoyed was missing. Really looking forward to the sequel.

There wasn’t a single dull moment in this book, at least not for me. I really connected with each main character and understood where they were coming from. The writing was so well-crafted and thoughtful. It's amazing that this is the author's debut novel.
