Slaughterhouse-Five is a classic for a reason and is certainly worth a read! This book is difficult to describe. It is all over the place (in a good way) and jumps from time to time and place to place, keeping you constantly intrigued. At its core, it is about war and its impacts on people, placing particular emphasis on the mental well-being of those who experience it. It is tragic and startling at times while being funny at others. Vonnegut is an impressive writer and his use of repetition is really stunningly done. I don't know if I will re-read it because although I enjoyed it, I feel that I got what I needed from it in one read through. Overall, I definitely recommend reading it at least once!
