I get the same feeling from this that some people get from Pulp Fiction, like where I'm so familiar with the derivatives that the original can be whelming. I'm glad I read it though, and I feel like I'll read it again and have different experiences with it. Lots of truly beautiful images and scenes.
Book club book.. My second attempt to read Kurt Vonnegut. At least I finished this one!
I liked some of the ideas in the book, the time travel PTSD, the Tralfamadorians, etc. I really liked the parts where Billy was in an alien zoo being admired by them:
"Most Tralfamadorians had no way of knowing Billy's body and face were not beautiful. They supposed that he was a splendid specimen. This had a pleasant effect on Billy, who began to enjoy his body for the first time.
But I felt like Vonnegut was trying to put so many different ideas into one book. So as a whole, the story didn't make much sense. He even went so far as to cram in synopses of two sci fi books written by one of the book's characters. It just felt like he wanted to share those ideas and they didn't have much to do with the plot, if there was one. I was ready for it to be finished, though I did enjoy a lot of it.

Molto particolare ed interessante, ho decisamente bisogno di un pò di tempo per processare nella mente tutto il contenuto. Non è sicuramente il mio genere di libro, però vorrei comunque leggere qualche altro titolo dell'autore perché mi incuriosisce tantissimo sia per quanto riguarda le storie che narra che lo stile che usa
