I loved it. If I was better at prose, I would wax about the deep emotional connection she drew between characters and how they felt so real and so complex. Alas, there are a million other reviews for that. But this is the best book I've read in a while. Although slow, and relatively predictable, I found that didn't take away from the overall heart of the book.

Hmmm…. Such a mixture of feelings. Mad this book was so long, mad it took so long for the twist to take place and the ending felt rushed. We spent a lot of time building the sister’s relationships but not enough in the ending I fear it feels a little unfinished BUT I did enjoy the overall story. Found myself furious with Sylvie and William for the majority of the book 3.9 overall.

such a beautiful story, well crafted and written, the characters felt so real (and relatable) and i was invested in the sibling relationships. important life lessons and questions were interwoven in the storyline seamlessly and impactfully

i don't know what to feel when i finished reading this book. mostly because i tried really hard to connect with the story and yet in the end i still can't feel anything. the characters felt way too two-dimensional and i think i simply can't get past that. but overall it's a solid story, just not my type of style of wrting.
